She had always been a lover of old things, he not so much, but something was different about this old, somewhat lost hotel. It was Mr. Scheve that convinced his wife to buy this heap of stone and history and make her new again. Almost three years in restoration, The P.A. Smith Hotel is in the heart of the "Railroad District" in Navasota, TX, and at last has found her forever home.

Enjoy a sip or two in Hamer's Speakeasy Lounge. Named after the legendary Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, who killed and captured Bonnie & Clyde, the lounge offers a relaxing atmosphere as well as a bit of history on Mr. Hamer and the infamous couple. How you find your way there, whether across a catwalk, the stairway, elevator or a private entrance is up to you. So charming it's almost illegal.

Navasota Oakland Cemetery

Last weekend in October

Take a night-time guided tour at Navasota’s historic Oakland Cemetery.  Actors will portray the founding families of Navasota and Grimes County weaving tales about how their personal lives and businesses intersected.  Each year different families are chosen with a different theme.
